About therapy

Treatment Modalities /Therapeutic Philosophy

I would consider myself a Person Centered, Humanistic

Therapist who values our relationship first and foremost. I have been trained in Family Systems Theories, and I use several of them as my backbone for treatment. I employ ABFT, and I have expertise and training in EFT, Gottman, DBT and CBT, and EMDR.

What does going to therapy mean about you?

Most clients, in my experience, have come into the therapy office because they are not as happy or satisfied with their lives, themselves, or their relationships as they would like to be.  Or, they have

encountered a life cycle change or situation they have not coped with in a way that is healthy for them. Both of these are perfectly normal and valid reasons for talking to a professional, and I would always encourage and applaud this.  To me, therapy, even with potential for diagnosis or medication, should be normalized for anyone looking for self improvement, improved functioning, and greater self evaluation.
